1. Take part in a stone carving workshop

On a small block of soft limestone, sculpt the design of your choice. Take home a souvenir of Guédelon!

2. Talk to the craftsmen

Take time to converse with the craftsmen and women, they will explain their work, the tools they use and the role they play in the castle-construction.

3. Visit the vaulted chambers 

Visit the chambers which are already in place in the castle: the kitchen, the storeroom, the bedchamber, the Great Hall

4. Make your way to visit the miller

Walk your way down along a 500-m-long woodland path which leads from the construction site to the a working medieval flour mill

5. Enjoy medieval food fresh from a wood-fired oven

“Pain sur la planche” serves a range of grilled meats and veggies freshly barbecued by chefs.

6. Have a picnic in the 13th century

Collect picnic lunches pre-ordered on guedelon.fr or grab some sandwiches, salads, quiches and homemade desserts at ‘Mistembec’

There are several animals, including geese and horses walking around the site

It is a 15-hectare site, so plan at least 4 hours for your visit.

Guédelon organizes 3 to 5 days courses to learn or perfect traditional building skills from baker, masonry, and ceramic tile making.
