Perhaps in my childhood, I read too many Scottish folklore stories because I believed that when I grew up, I would find that secretive Loch Ness monster living in the lake! Today I am going to share how I finally went in search of Nessie.
Loch Ness is a breathtakingly beautiful lake in Scotland that undoubtedly attracts many tourists. It is the second deepest freshwater lake in the country and the purported home of Nessie. The Loch Ness monster, or Nessie, is often described as a large, long-necked, prehistoric reptile that inhabits Loch Ness in the Scottish Highlands.
I took a guided tour with the «Ness Bus» from Edinburgh. It was a full-day journey covering more than 530 km!
A tour bus brought us to Fort Augustus. It is a cute little village, full of walkers, cyclists, and boats! Fort Augustus is situated at the southern end of Loch Ness. Through the heart of the village is running a 100 km-long Caledonian Canal. No wonder why it is considered one of the world’s greatest waterways!
Unfortunately (or not!), I did not find Nessie, but I will share my journey and tips with you to help you plan your trip to Loch Ness better!
