During this difficult time, I ran out of ideas about what to make for dinner… not to mention the supplies from local grocery stores are limited to certain products and brands.
I found a solution by ordering from HelloFresh online. The concept is simple… you log on to their website and choose a vegetarian or non-vegetarian menu. Then you will be offered to choose your meals for a week. The choice offered is limited to 5 dishes, but they are really well selected
Advantages:
- Fresh products that taste as if they were supplied from a farm
- Well packaged: I mean REALLY thought through. Dairy and meat remain fresh due to a special bag material and ice
- Fast delivery right to your door
- You can find printed receipts inside the box with step-by-step guidelines and pictures
- Meals are always different… usually include comfy food with some beef, light chicken, and one vegetarian dish (also inside the meat package!)
- The correct amount of food for 2 (I chose a menu for two, however, there is a menu for 4 as well)
- The number of spices, vegetables, and other products is prepared exactly for one recipe which makes it so much easier… no need to convert grams into pounds or use measuring tools!
- I can guarantee exotic new flavors will not only impress you but you will hear a lot of compliments on your cooking skills from your friends who tried it
Disadvantages
- The website and printed recipes inside the box are in Swiss German which can be a bit discouraging. I would recommend opening their website in Chrome and translating the full page when ordering your box, choosing meals, etc. When you cook for the first time, it will save you time if you find the recipe on their US website (instead of hellofresh.ch, use “.com”).
- Your first order will take up to 2 weeks to deliver
- Subscription will be automatically extended so do not forget to unsubscribe
- It is a cook box, so you will still need to cook all the ingredients, it is not a pre-cooked meal delivery 🙂
